Thunderbolt Ethernet Adapter Fails To Work After Update

Unplug the Thunderbolt ethernet adapter.
Open the Network preference pane and then click the lock to authenticate (if required).
Set up a new network location.
Reconnect the Thunderbolt adapter.
Click Apply.

The adaptor should get configured and show up in the list of available network adaptor services.
