Upstart Script For Solr

I went looking for a simple Upstart script for Solr (running on Ubuntu) and didn't find one. I did locate a good resource called Upstart Intro, Cookbook and Best Practices that I found extremely useful however.

Simple start up script (solr.conf) below. Install into /etc/init

Usage: service solr start | stop
